Please only submit suggestions/feedback for improvements to the LEGO Ideas online platform experience

  1. Return to browsing what you were browsing.

When you scroll down the discovery page you first hit a button 'see more projects'. When you look at a specific project (clicking on it and reading its page) and go back to where you were, you return to the top of the discover page. Is it possible to return to where you were last on the list? So that you don't have to scroll all the way down again. Or would that invade privacy because you'd have to record where someone was last?

  2. Make it easier to edit the profile

I have tried editing my profile and customizing my avatar on LEGO Ideas, however your site is NOT letting me do so. I have tried looking on your FAQ's and other sites but in summation: all the information is WORTHLESS.
So can you please make it easier to customize my LEGO Ideas avatar or tell me what I'm doing wrong and tell me how to customize it

  3. Grand Prize and Runner-Up Winner Badge

With former LEGO Rebrick being incorporated into LEGO Ideas, building contests have become a big part of the site and an exciting addition to the already awesome product submissions. I suggest that 2 new badges be added to the lineup to more seamlessly blend the 2 distinct functionalities of the site. The "Grand Prize Winner" badge and the "Runner-Up" badge.

  4. Let me delete my own stuff like product ideas or my MOCs that I have entered into a contest

I want to be able to easily delete my MOCs that I have submitted so that I don't have to write an email to the Admin to get help. I don't want to wait that long!

  5. Make Updates More Visible

I don't know how to do this. Maybe somehow display any pictures in an update alongside those on the main page, or add the text of an update onto the end of the description, but those aren't the greatest ideas, so if you have a better way to do this, add it in a comment. Or maybe just make a really big button around the "Updates" tab so that people know they are there.
I just feel like no one who is not already interested in a project looks at updates, even though an update might ave been (if they…

  6. Add Lego emojis

It would be very cool, if when you're typing out a comment or a description, or even THIS right here, if you add could add a emoji to show how you feel. But why stop there? I think Lego emojis would just be strait up awesome. A Lego emoji would be like a normal emoji, but with a Lego head. If you like this idea, then please vote on it.

  7. Keep Me Updated...

I've just noticed that there are no options in the settings to notify one when a Saved Project has posted an update. I miss having this notification feature from both the standing of a project supporter and submitter and I believe having this setting option is important for member's projects for a variety of reasons. When a member makes a change or to add something to their project, you'll get feedback on it from a different point of view from a member who has already supported based on your first version than from a member who has seen all your…

  8. Please separate real LEGO builds from digital builds during Contests

When submitting entries for Contests, I believe there should be two categories: one for creations using real life LEGO bricks, and ones created digitally using LEGO simulation software. When building digitally, builders have access to infinitely more parts in a much wider variety of colours, putting physical builders at a significant disadvantage. And while digitally rendered entries are often extremely impressive, I do feel it provides a somewhat unfair advantage to digital builders over builders using real bricks. Hence why I feel there should be two categories (and thus two prize pools)- one for entries built using physical LEGO bricks,…

  9. Not only one Idea on the first page

I think it would be good if not only an idea or ideas appear first on the Lego Ideas page but the succession changes.

  10. Enable comments on project updates

Currently, making updates is a bit of a one-way void.

The designer doesn’t really have any idea if they are improving or harming their chances of getting support.

Enabling comments on updates would provide many benefits for all users (including LEGO Group). It would:

    1. Engage supporters in the design process
    2. Provide immediate feedback to the designer
    3. Encourage the designer to continually improve the model
    4. Give LEGO much more insight into the viability of a project

  11. Create 3 categories by ages and piece count

The first criteria for most AFOLs (=the voters) is the esthetic of the designs. In general, complex and detailed designs get much more votes then the small sets. But the LEGO board of designers refuses most of these big sets because they are too complex and they need to aim a market for ages much smaler than the 16+.

Lego missed many sets that could have been very interesting for their development because of this contradiction.

To help these smaller sets, I suggest the creation of a classification by piece count and ages, in the same way it already exists…

  12. Allow us to access all the current project ideas.

In the drop down menu, we can choose a lot of filters, but we can never see all of the current ideas posted. I would appreciate if there was a show all button available.

  13. Simultanious contest entries

I have had trouble with entering contests because I made multiple entries, and photographed them all in the same shoot to avoid setting up the sheets and cameras too many times. I went to enter them when there were about 10 days left and realized that there was no way that I could submit all of them doing it one at a time with 2 days between, and any rejections. I would guess that I am not the only one who has experienced such issues of possibility and convenience and propose that Ideas should allow one user to have multiple…

  14. You should allow multiple contest submissions to be entered at the same time.

Not allowing new contest entries while one is being verified makes it so that the process of uploading entries takes a lot longer, and sometimes make it impossible to enter all of your designs before the end of the submission phase.

  15. Add an "I don't support" option to projects, which then filters them out by default

This would make it realistic for regular users to view all new projects. They look at every project once, and give it a thumbs up or down, then next time they visit they can see only the new projects, without their view being cluttered up with projects they already supported or decided they wouldn't.

  16. Have more than models for the contests.

Some people aren't as great as others at building models. It's only fair that everyone can win a contest, and some people have different skills. Lego Ideas should add different types of contests, like making videos, songs, or posters. I still want to keep the model contests, but have different ones alongside them. I know you might say that if you want to win, you should practice to get more experienced, but that could take years to get good enough to win, and that's not the point. The point is that people with different skills can win too.

  17. I would love to see a way to view old blog posts easier than it is now.

It is really hard to find older blog posts now and I would like that to change.

  18. The Best Things in Life Too Can Be Free

The prizes given away in the contests are really Awesome, but I would like to see some non-monetary prizes given out along side of them that would also give members an even more engaging way to participate in the contests. A vote for your favorite entries after the contest closes might be a fun way for all members to have a part in the contests while awaiting for the results from the judges. A special 'Fan Favorite' badge could be awarded, and this is the cool part, it doesn't need to be given just to the top one but it…

  19. More regular Staff's Picks

I notice that recently the Staff's Pick have not been announced regularly. I think it was a great way to discover past projects and gave a great boost to those projects, hundreds of supporters.
I hope it will return to be a daily selection.
