  1. Voting Process based on ever earned VIP Points

If you earned for example 10.000 VIP Points, you could Support 10 Projects a Week, even if you already spent those Points. This would limit the insane Votes of People that might not even buy the Sets they Vote for since many Vote for several thousand Projects. There could be a small base number of Votes like one a day for entirely new People. This would limit the vote exploitation that is currently going on.

  2. Fix the profile page so I can see my "archived" project ideas again.

Only my "expired" ideas are present in my contributions list. I can still access my "archived" ideas through links in my email and notifications menu, but nobody else can see my best ideas! I think this bug applies to everyone, because I can't find anyone else's archived ideas either.

  3. How to change ideas!

With the incredible amount of ideas hitting 10k and people becoming disappointed with the outcomes...

..why not do a re-vote for the ideas that hit 10k?
Then whittle it down to a sensible amount?

The ideas with IP issues can be sorted out before the re votes start and limit users to 2-3 votes....

Much like the recent anniversary idea.

    What do you think?

  4. Send a notification when someone rates your project

One of my favourite recent updates has been the 5-star rating system; however, I have to check the statistics to see if anyone has rated my projects. I would greatly appreciate an option to have a notification when someone gives feedback to a project like that

  5. Place Product Ideas as the top of the profile page

Right now Product Ideas can be “buried” underneath the activity and contest entries that are becoming increasingly popular. They move further down the page where they are not as visible, and therefore get less supporters. I would like to suggest that product ideas be shown first, instead of the most recent submission.

  6. Do four or five review periods a year

Since the pandemic made Lego Ideas more popular, more Ideas are getting 10k. There were 57 in the 1st phase of 2021 and only 2 were chosen. Before the pandemic, the average number of ideas per review was 5. Now that the average has increased to about 35, you should increase the number of review periods.

  7. Split product idea reviews into multiple categories based on project size and/or whether or not they are licensed.

When a project hits 10,000 it would get placed into one of a few categories based on its size and/or whether or not it is licensed. Each category would get its own review where at least one set is chosen.

  8. Give successful fan designers an ongoing role

The list of Lego fans who have reached 10,000 supporters and had their idea turned into a real set-on-shelves is growing. I'd like to see all successful fan designers offered an ongoing role. For example, there could be a 'fan designer pick' akin to the 'staff pick'. Or perhaps fan designers could take turns at being part of contest judging panels. I think being a successful Lego fan designer is an important milestone for the whole Lego community, and I reckon an ongoing role would help to build upon that community aspect of it.

  9. Improve navigation (boards reviews)

Lego ideas is not only about voting for product ideas, but also following the process for sets we supported. For that reason, I think navigation could be improved in a few ways :

    • tab to access blog posts in the menu
    • link to previous and next board review projects list in the blog post
    • link to board review result in related project list post
    • possibility to use the search bar for blog posts too
    • add a page to the list of all the projects ever published in store (also for all projects that have reached 10k, awaiting review, and in…

i like lego but some people get 1000 followers it would be great for people who get so many followers to get a badge vote if you agree

  12. The Big Picture

I see the changes in the comment section after the latest upgrade and I couldn't be happier that we are able to use emoji now, that is so cool, thank you! But I noticed that the member's profile pics in the comment section seem a little too small, you really can't see what they are. I'd like to see them closer to the size they used to be, they're very much a part of a member's identity and now they're hard to see and unnoticible. Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback :0)

  13. Put Staff Picks on the top of the home page that day

Currently not many people know when projects receive a staff pick, only the people who had saved the project. It would be awesome if they got put at the top of the home page that day (where JacobM366's activity poll is now).

  14. Profile Comment/News list

Implement a short commentar list on each profile. Not relevant for a specific Idea or contest just in general for the useres to get in conntact with others, write something you are working on, get a feedback to your profile and Ideas.

  15. Clarify Dates for Projects

Please add dates to Project Ideas. Currently, the only way I know of to see when it was posted, or to see when it achieved a certain number of supporters, is to look at the rough dates on comments or update. I think that on the statistics page it should also show a timeline showing how long it took to reach each level, and when it happened.

  16. Skill categories for competitions

Why not introduce different categories based on skill for competitions. Obviously skill level is quite subjective but it could be based on things like previous winers, 10k product ideas etc in the top category, runners up and maybe people with over 1000 likes on a product idea in the middle category and people who’ve not submitted many ideas or been on the site for long in the beginner category. Something like that, give everyone a chance to win, maybe encourage more entries, just an idea. :)

  17. Standardize the size of pictures for Contest and Product Ideas

When posting entries for the contests I always need to cut the size of the picture, with the result that sometimes I need to do new renders of my build.
With Product Ideas I don't have any issue, the format 4:3 works perfectly.
Is it possible to have a standard size for both?

  18. Contest Entry Submission Process Issue

The contest system does not allow for additional contest entries to be submitted if there is already an entry in the Awaiting Approval state. This prevents users from submitting multiple entries and from correcting errors in their entry before the deadline.

On LEGO Ideas Contests, the “How It Works” section of the rules state that “We recommend submitting your entry 2-3 days before the deadline in the event we have to return it to you for changes. “ Most contests end on Monday which means that 2-3 days before the deadline is during the weekend and the Moderation staff does not…

  19. Parts list requirement for estimated price visible on submission

Platform should strive to make voting about whether people would want and be able to buy a set and not just whether they like it and want to be the part of its success.

Users should see estimated price for the potential set being sold and they should be also educated when placing support that this means they would like to buy such set for such price.

Estimation could be based on bricklink brick cost estimate with added royalties, estimated packaging costs etc.

Potentially this could go toward extreme implementation like selecting support type between "I'd like to have it",…

  20. Set the default sorting mechanism to "newest" for the Lego House Ideas contest

Since it's sorted by "popular", everyone sees the most popular first and is more likely to engage, leading to a feedback loop. It also just makes more sense to sort by "newest" by default.
