  2. Contest rules query

Can contest entries be hand drawn, as I don't think I will have enough or the correct bricks and I only have access to an android device.

  3. Instead of ending projects that are in the middle of gathering support when a product is released, grandfather in the existing submissions.

Instead of ending projects that are in the middle of gathering support when a product is released, grandfather in the existing submissions. Stop accepting new submissions under the conflicting theme but don't archive the designs in progress. This would allow designers to finish gathering support and honor their entries that were considered valid at the start of the competition. This also allows Lego to avoid the situation of ending a project that has reached over 9,000 votes with plenty of time left only to get archived due to theme overlap. This is frustrating to both the designers and supporters of the project. It would…

  4. Please do this and think about the KIDS!

I decided, why not let the kids get that huge amount of popularity not accessible on lego life? I mean, TOOOONS OF SUPPORTERS, TOOOONS OF STUFF, GET ACCEPTED, THEN GET IT TURNED INTO A HUGE SET?! SAY WHAAAAT?!

Why not let the kids get that huge popularity too? It makes no sense for lego to make a idea sharing website only for the older builders. Wouldn’t it be good for kids to get that huge burs5 of happiness upon getting the huge amount of popularity they got from hard work?

    PLEAAASE do this!

  5. Let users submit and rate self-made parts

There should be some sort of form where we could submit "mini-ideas", for example new parts that are currently non-existent. Sometimes I find myself looking for a part just to learn that there is no such thing. I might design it in part designer but in the end, where is the use in having it digitally but not physically.
Just an example: I made the 6091 Slope curved 2 x 1 x 1 1/3 with Recessed Stud having only 1 height instead of 1 1/3, as there is no good workaround.

  6. not require imagery to be uploaded when submitting an idea

When someone has an idea, a concept, and they happen not to be a visual or graphic artist, your requiring the upload of an accompanying image prevents and declines ideas LEGO might want to execute.

If imagery is required, please consider producing two ways to submit ideas so no one is prevented from sharing their concept.

Unfortunately, the requirement of having to include an image of your submission will not be changed.

The expectation of LEGO Ideas Product Ideas is that all submissions must show a built LEGO model.

Flashy, photoshopped images are not necessary of course. However, images must be of a good quality, crisp and clear and on a neutral background.

  8. Reduce the time between allowed updates

Right now I have to wait a month before I update the description/images of my Lego Ideas Submission. I've made considerable improvements in the model and it's silly to have to wait a month. It needs to be reduced to something reasonable.

Unfortunately, we’re not able to provide users with more update as it adds considerably more workload for admins.

We encourage you to ensure that you submission is already as complete as it can be before uploading.

  9. Specify IP list to distinguish between Sub-Themes

LEGO Ideas currently doesn't allow submissions based on IP that is currently licensed to prevent ideas from overlapping with official themed sets. This is understandable, but the official list of restricted IP feels rather broad: For example, as popular as the LEGO: Star Wars line is, the video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has not had a set made about it in the 17 years since its release. It seems extremely unlikely that a Knights of the Old Republic set will overlap in any way with an official Lego Star Wars set, especially since the game has…

  11. Make it possible to gather support after 10000

Add another milestone (15000? 20000?). If an idea gets to this milestone while in review, there will be a guarantee that it will be a set. Or that there will be a set based on the same thing. Example: Boeing 747 (AN EXAMPLE) gets 10000 supporters and goes into review. However, it's very popular and it reaches another milestone. Then, LEGO will make a Boeing 747.

Unfortunately, we will never be able to guarantee a product idea is made on the basis of a fan vote. Especially not when it’s submitted based on an intellectual property to which rights would need to be obtained first (if it’s even possible).

  12. Make it possible to say thanks to supporters by sharing relevent custom instructions

I'd like to be able to say thanks to followers and supporters who have helped me reach certain milestones, by giving them the ability to download instruction sets to relevant MOCs, either in house or linked to a page like Rebrickable. Is this possible and if not, why?
    Thanks!

You are already able to do this via the “Thank you message” on your Product Idea page (you can edit your product idea if you haven’t added this message before).

The “Thank you message” is only seen by fans who have supported your submission.

Note that instructions may only be shared for free, and any commercialisation is strictly prohibited.

  13. Tell contest participants how their entries did

After the winner is announced in a contest, I think that participants should be shown the scores they got in each judging category (relevance to theme, coolness/originality, etc.) so that they may know the strengths and weaknesses of their build, and use this information to improve future contest entries.

  16. Provide a list of available LEGO pieces

Correct me if I'm wrong, but according to the guidelines section, it seems like designers are only supposed to submit ideas that use pieces that are currently in production. Maybe I missed this somehow, but is there an updated list of "available LEGO pieces" that are valid to use in LEGO Ideas designs? If not, such a list could be helpful. A link in the guidelines section to such a list would be helpful too. :)

Members can submit Product Ideas using any existing LEGO elements they wish. They may however not submit ideas for new LEGO elements.

When it comes to contests, we may have restrictions on element types or have the expectation that members be able to build their creation in real LEGO bricks.

We are unfortunately not able to provide an overview of valid to user LEGO elements.

  18. Do something special when membership reaches 1,000,000.

The LEGO Ideas community may reach one million members before the end of 2019. If not then, it will certainly hit that number early in 2020. Please begin planning a special contest and/or event to celebrate that landmark in membership and participation.

Although we love a good celebration, our membership number can often fluctuate. For instance, we do delete members whose accounts are deactivated after a prolonged period of not being used. Therefore, we don’t consider this membership number too seriously.

  19. Remove support for an Idea

As long as an Idea hasn't hit the 10.000 supporter mark, it can change by updates en edits. But as an supporter, you can't remove your support when the idea changes. I'd like to be able to remove my support, when an idea has changed, so the creator of the idea thinks carefully when changing a idea.

  20. I think you are too strict avoiding project with religious buildings

I believe it's right to keep a prohibition against strong religious or political references, but at the same time I think that to include a church in an "architecture" project is a bit exaggerated especially if there aren't explicits references or symbols. Do you know that the "leaning tower" in Pisa is the bel tower of the cathedral? And that San Marco in Venezia is another cathedral? But you have inserted them in your models! So why can't I publish a model of Florence with the cathedral?
