make any updates automatically become the project
When a project is originally made, it might not be the best design possible. That is why there are updates. The problem, when you are surfing through projects, is that you don't see that they are updated. You see the original image, and not the updated and better version of it. This makes me feel like updates are kind of useless, since nobody looking at the main project picture will be able to see the update, which might have been the deciding factor for the viewer.
Well, it looks like our wishes have just been granted, so I'll be able to reassign my three votes to other suggestions... Victory!
I fully support this suggestion (3 votes!) although it was almost already made by someone six months ago : https://legoideas.uservoice.com/forums/166718-general/suggestions/37124182-make-updates-more-visible
On the other hand, I would understand Lego Ideas' position if they don't want to change: this update shouldn't lead people to post a lot of sloppy projects, and only improve those who get enough support.
The first version must remain the best you're capable of at the time you submit it, and eventually, could evolve with the feedback.
There's a new suggestion going in the same way as yours (https://legoideas.uservoice.com/forums/166718-general/suggestions/38716897-make-any-updates-automatically-become-the-project) but that already has more votes than this one so, for its success, I transfer my votes to the new one...
"... might have been the deciding factor": reminds me of the Japanese Tea Garden (which has fortunately reached 10,000 supporters since then) and the comments all along the support phase on its very… specific bridge, whereas he had adapted it to the public's taste since the first update…
To date, the most urgent change in my opinion on the platform: you have my 3 votes!
(but I don't have a better idea to improve things; being able to edit the beginning of the description already seems pretty good to me, so those who stop at the first pictures are still informed)
I don't know how to do this. Maybe somehow display any pictures in an update alongside those on the main page, or add the text of an update onto the end of the description, but those aren't the greatest ideas, so if you have a better way to do this, add it in a comment. Or maybe just make a really big button around the "Updates" tab so that people know they are there.
I just feel like no one who is not already interested in a project looks at updates, even though an update might ave been (if they had seen it) the deciding factor in someone choosing to support a project or not.
