A good submission without feature in weekly digest will often take few weeks to pass first milestone, but the one being featured will pass first milestone within hours and has potential of getting to 500 or 1000 within first week.
This just shows how much Explore list is lacking. Editor's choice is still subjective and about the luck of being picked.
By adding more categories to the weekly digest, they would make it either so there's less submissions in each tier, smaller images, just icons, to fit few of them on the screen or it would end up being huge list with a lot of data pushed through the mail which isn't optimal and also not many people would see all of this.
I like the spirit of it and it bothers me that some of my submissions get through first milestone too fast to be picked on weekly digest to just stop getting supports after that, but adding a lot more to weekly digest is going to complicate things and not necessarily bring more exposure.
