Parts list requirement for estimated price visible on submission
Platform should strive to make voting about whether people would want and be able to buy a set and not just whether they like it and want to be the part of its success.
Users should see estimated price for the potential set being sold and they should be also educated when placing support that this means they would like to buy such set for such price.
Estimation could be based on bricklink brick cost estimate with added royalties, estimated packaging costs etc.
Potentially this could go toward extreme implementation like selecting support type between "I'd like to have it", "I'd consider buying it for this price" and "I'd definitely buy it" and this would cost some points based on the price to support at those stages. Users would be given small specific amounts periodically, but could refill them by registering their set - the more expensive set, the more expensive sets you can support.
This would need a lot polishing and iterating though, so just having estimated price and people choosing support type (how likely are they to buy it at this price) would be a good start.

Hi. I'm not saying you couldn't though not sure this would be viable. For example, in Australia the Imperial Destroyer (75252) retails $1,099. Bricklink parts would cost me $1,363 (24% more) and that's not including royalties. You'd be asking the Ideas team to essentially 'review' each submission as they are submitted. From a marketing perspective, I don't believe you could automate potential cost based supply and demand, IP/royalties, etc as there are many sets with similar part count/weight which vary a great deal in price (and many other factors). Don't forget the Ideas team would also view the 5 star ratings for insights. Based on my experience, people have a fair judgement in these areas. Cheers
